Sponsor-a-child

Since January 2011 we have introduced a sponsorship model to all those children who, due to their age, have to leave the Proyecto Salesiano “Chicos de la calle”.
With the conclusion of the last year of school, the children, especially the girls lose their place in the organization and are from now on on their own (boys have the theoretical chance to get a scholarship for the Don Bosco College). Secondary schools are very expensive and are therefore not an option for most of the children.

That’s where the bambúPatrons come into play:

A sponsorship is the financial support of ONE child, that went through our bambúProjekt workshops and has the qualifications for secondary school. For EUR 240 per year 50% of the costs for the secondary schools are covered. That money facilitates the child’s family the financing, while at the same time providing an incentive. It’s a self-motivater, a prerequisite for attending school.

This year we have already found four sponsors, who provide access to a school (education) to Lisbeth, Tatiana, Alicia and Teresa and help to ensure that these kids must not return to the street for work! An education promotes not only future job opportunities, but also strengthens the confidence of the kids and their families.

The donated money will be taken directly to the schools, so as to ensure that your help gets where it is suppose to go. Of course we are always in contact with the schools and get feedback, which we then pass on to you.

The sponsorship fee (EUR 20 – per month) as a donation is tax deductible – you will get a charitable donation certificate send to you via mail.
