After a lot of hard work with the installation of the exhibition and the organization of the opening we were all very happy that everything turned out that well. It was wonderful to see the proud kids presenting their works, dances and jugglings in front of the interested crowd.
The speeches were given by Marcello Aguirre, the general coordinator of “Arte Actual” (FLACSO Ecuador), our this years coordinator Elisabeth Weller from Germany, Timo Goosmann, the german ambassadors referee of culture and press and Wladimir Galárraga, the coordinator of “Fundación Proyecto Salesiano Chicos de la Calle”.
It was a beautiful event and everybody enjoyed a lot to share and be part of bambú. We are also happy about all the new and important contacts that enable bambú to go on working and help us to grow.
Thank you so much for supporting us!!

Last weekendddd with the kids just past! On saturday the kids finished their “animals and living spaces” works and the results are amazing
in the afternoon we were so happy to have Belén, Vane and María Elena there to help out and to enjoy some fun time with the kids. They also brought special presents for everyone and the children were very happy
On sunday we went to a Laguna near Nanegal and had a wonderful, wonderful last day playing in the water and enjoying the sun. As we came back to the finca, we had a last lunch and we can assure you that we have eaten like kings and queens
Now we are about to plan the next exhibition and feel so prepared for that
these kids are little stars that created brilliant animals of Ecuador!

The bambú sommer workshops of 2010 are nearly over and the works of the kids are almost finished. There was lot of work for the kids as for our talleristas at the finca as well but of course work full of fun as well!. As every year we decided to go to the “picina natural” next sunday to relax and enjoy the last day all together. On Saturday, we are very happy to host other beloved bambu Quito members, Vanessa and Belen and our friend Maria Elena at the finca who prepared some special activities and surprises for the kids. Apart from the workshops we started organizing this years exhibition “Yo y el bosque nublado” and applied for a fund at the “Ministerio del Medio Ambiente” in Quito. So cross fingers and support our idea of the bambu festival 2010: “Yo y nuestro enterno” with a lot of activities to support bambúProjekt´s growth and be able to keep up with the work!
With special thanks to everyone that supported and supports us in terms of Matthias Duderstadts birthday in Germany!
Sunny greetings!

At our 4th workshop weekend the children had the opportunity – after a good time of working at their animals – to make up their own dance choreography and to present it afterwards. It was lot of fun! On sunday we were happy to have some special guests at the finca, as we had announced in updates before. Alex, one of our beloved bambú-Quito members, came to talk with the kids about some important facts on environmental protection. They saw videos about water protection and learn about the function of the ecosystem through games. Each child made a promise with the nature at the end of the class. The children seemed to enjoy the input and Alex brought them a little closer to some knowledge on environmental protection
-Javier, an artist friend of Alex, came to see the results of the workshops on sunday. Javier studied painting and is now working as a art teacher. Thanks for the important input! and until next time!
The third weekend of our 2010 workshops was just incredible! The kids came up with a lot of own ideas and worked creatively and concentrated in their wonderful animals. Each child is becoming an expert of an animal and every weekend they learn more about the species, the feeding, the living space and whatever else may be important in …the specific context. It was heart-rending to see the way the children got into that topic and some of them even wanted to go on working when it was time to go to the river. What a compliment! Apart from that we where happy about a guest from Germany. Tobias worked for 11 month at Gálapagos and on his way back home he passed the finka to let the children profit of some of his work experience at the island. We cant wait to go on working the next three weekends and non of us wants to believe that its already half-time over…

15 happy kids, 3 happy talleristas and one more than happy “casi tallerista” as well as Edison (the person in charge of the Salesianos) went saturday morning united in a “camioneta” to the finka to start working.
Challenging-Fun times enjoyed the kids, while working with the new materials like wire and balloons combined with papier-mache, they all did a great job and never surrendered! The kids seemed to be very inspired by the “cloud forest and its animals” subject why Fanziska decided to follow Jamina and Liza for now. The next weekends will follow the farytail ideas and dreams. As some of the kids in contrast to our `talleristas´ already know the finca and the sequence of tha bambú workshops, it was a beautiful exchange of experiences and knowledge and we are very happy about the first results.
Everybody enjoyed as well, the so tasty and healthy food at this paradise-like place and if there has to be something to complain it would be the mosquitos that tried to eat us… but… lets just say that there ist absolutly nothing to complain
With special thanks to our facilitators and the kids!
bambúProjekt Team

We are happy to tell that the first weekend of our 2010 workshops worked out very well. Franziska, Jamina and Liza – our talleristas from Hamburg – and eleven of the bambu kids got to know each other, went to the river near the finca and enjoyed the …wonderful nature.
Now we are so much looking forward to start working with the kids coming saturday. The theme of Jamina and Lizas workshop is going to be the cloud forest and its animals. The children will be free to choose an animal they are becoming an expert of during the period of the workshops. They will reconstruct the animals and their living spaces in an creativ way. Franziska offers the children the opportunity to create their own farytail and to build the protagonists of their stories with papier-mache and paint them as colourfull as they feel like
The upcoming weekends we are having some special guests on the finca we tell you more about soon.
With many thanks to our donors and everybody else that made 2010th bambu workshops possible!
